General Body Meeting

The ULYPMT Young Professionals meeting is held every 4th Thursday of the month. This month our General Body meeting will be held at the Urban League of Middle Tennessee main office located at 2250 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. in Metro Center. Meeting will begin at 6:30pm with networking afterward. This meeting is open to the general public. We encourage all who are interested in attending to contact our Membership Chair a membership@ulypmt.org.

Urban League of Middle Tennessee Action Coach: 5 Steps to Super Profits

Urban Leauge of Middle Tennessee in partnership with ActionCoach Business Coaching is offering a series of Financial Mastery Seminars. Thse seminars will give you ideas on how to, remove the chaos from your business, use numbers to make great business descisions, and gain support with business development.

The seminar will be held on October 2, 2009 at the Springhill Suites at 250 Athens Way. For more information contact Urban League office at 615-254-0525 or register at the Urban League website at www.ulmt.org and click on the Action Coach link. There is a Fee for each seminar.

All seminars are approved for CPE Credit.

General Body Meeting : Power of the Business Card

Ever wonder if your networking skills are truly up to par? Event after event, you pass out business cards with the hope of making the connection that will catapult you to the apex of success! Instead of an interview or lunch invitation, you find that a new tree was planted in your honor; for your business card has landed in the recipient’s trash or buried under a stack of papers, only to be found months later after that connection has grown cold. First impressions and early follow-up is crucial; especially with today’s social networking and other forms of communication, it is imperative to make the most of that face-to-face contact.

This month ULYPMT is featuring the Power of the Business Card with special guest speaker Janet Rachel, Manager of Employment Services for Vanderbilt University. Come and learn the do's and don’ts of that face-to-face connection.

The ULYPMT Young Professionals meeting is held every 4th Thursday of the month at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts at 6:30pm with networking afterwards. Urban League Doing The Right Thing

Urban League will be holding its annual "Doing The Right Thing" event celebrating the achievements of our youth. Doing The Right Thing are for those students who demonstrated positive attitudes about academic achievement, consistent and enthusiastic participation in school, and commitment to meeting and exceeding education standards, community, and self-worth.

The recognition event will be held at Pearl Cohn Comprehensive High School on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00am. Please come and join us in celebrating these students achievements.
